machine id change?

I need to move a legacy application to another machine yet cannot recut the license because the vendor has gone out of business. I cannot change the license myself as it is a data file but I know that it is tied to the existing machine id. Is there any way of changing the machine id of the new machine to use the license file?

You'll need an HP CE for this in any case since the 'SS_CONFIG' utility used to change id's is HP proprietary. Pose the question when contacting HP.
