mail client hangs

Hello all,
we recently cold installed hpux 11 on a c360 and a c3000. The netscape mail client and outlook express hanged. We installed all general release patches from march and both mail clients hanged. With the patches from june installed is all the same. Any suggestions?

We have a C-class workstation and Netscape and its mail program messenger work fine. Our WS is setup as thus;

We do have the odd problem with Netscape running away and hogging all the CPU but its easily killed off. Do you have netscape installed via a Software distributor bundle of pulled off the net manually ?

I would suggest that you check the name resolution on that box. are your /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/nsswitch.conf set up properly?

I checked Your hints. We have the same OS and patch level as You Stefan. And resolf.conf and nsswitch.conf are ok.

One symptom to report: Starting netscape via commandline "/opt/netscape/netscape" and then try to create a new message makes netscape hang. A ^C in the terminal window where I started netscape does not kill netscape. Another ^C kills it but for a part of a second the netscape message composing window pops up and disappeares.

Are starting netscape as root or as netscape or whatever user? Here could be a problem...

What patch/s fixed the problem? I am having the exact same problem and have as of yet not found the patch to fix it. I believe it is an nfs problem though.
