Re: mail

Hi,

you probably already have one mailbox (probably /var/mail/root).

sendmail, mailx, mail, elm, ... are just utilities to read your mailbox and send mails. You can even use them all together.

Thierry.
All unix flavours are exactly the same . . . . . . . . . . for end users anyway.

Re: mail

Hello,

mail, elm or mailx are commands to read or send mails. mails to root will be stored in /var/mail/root.

If u want to redirect ur root mails to ur exchange mail id then u will have to configure sendmail.

Re: mail

On HPUX mail is usually delivered to /var/spool/mail/, i.e. in the case of root, in /var/spool/mail/root. All these applications, i.e. mail, mailx, elm and dtmail are what is called MUAs, i.e. Mail User Agent...they are used to read the mail delivered to the spool directory.

Hope this helps.

Re: mail

<icon mail on CDE >>

Different mail interface tools (like UPS, Fedex, mail etc;-) ) having the same source as mailbox.

<root message in only one mailbox and get all

There is only one mailbox per user in the system. So, you dont need to configure anything. The mailbox is located in /var/spool/mail/ .
