make_sys_image failure

I'm trying to create a golden image, make_sys_image failed with the following error:
"the gzip command failed PDT END
make_sys_image"

The system itself is a K box, 5GBs in size, running Ignite-UX B.2.4.307, on HP-UX 11.00.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Any solutions?

Is the path to gzip (/usr/contrib/bin) included in your PATH variable?
