make_tape_recovery error: exec format error
I am attempting to make recovery tapes from 6 J282 workstations, all slightly different configurations. The one workstation with an external DDS 3 tape drive continues to give me an error when testing the recovery tape. The make_recovery command executes without any errors (using flags -Avi), but when I boot the workstation to test the recovery tape it gives me an error: exec format error; and then returns me to the IPL prompt.
I will provide any additional data if required.
Anyone have any idea what is happening to this workstation?
TIA,
Tom

Re: make_tape_recovery error: exec format error
Hi Tom:
Are you sure that the tape was made with the no-rewind option (/dev/rmt/?mn)?

Re: make_tape_recovery error: exec format error
The four machines in the other building are the same except the one giving me problems has an external DDS3 drive, the other 3 have internal DDS 3 drives, all identify as the same model number (and I do not have that model number handy, the other machines are behind a firewall and I have to travel to the other site to work on them).
Yes, the tape recovery was made with the no-rewind device. I watched one run and make_recovery defaults to the no-rewind device, and another run I specified it.
