MCSG w/ 11.0 and 11i

Is it possible to cluster HP-UX 11.0 and HP-UX 11i noded in the same cluster?

Yes it is. Just ensure you use the same ServiceGuard versions on all nodes, and that you patch them the same.

No problem with this.
I guess you should use the same MC/SG release for this configuration

Re: MCSG w/ 11.0 and 11i

You could be asking for trouble if you do this. The whole point about MCSG is that the package can run on any machine... What you may find is that the package runs faster on one OS than the other which COULD cause problems. The worst case scenario you do not have failover capability!

Re: MCSG w/ 11.0 and 11i

Hello Johan,

Expanding on Melvyn's answer, the following versions of MC/ServiceGuard are supported on mixed versions of HPUX (11.00, 11i): 11.09, 11.13, 11.14

As he stated, every node in the cluster must have the SAME version loaded. Version 11.09 is a PLATFORM release (see the release notes http://docs.hp.com/hpux/ha/index.html#ServiceGuard for the significance of this term).

It is supported, but I never try this in the real case, I agree with Tim, it is possible you having problem, so I don't suggest you try this only if you have some specific reasons.
