mediainit reporting error
Dear Friends,
I have Itanitum server with 36GBx2 LVD HDD, i want to extend the VG00, when i give pvcreate
and the device name it is creating the vg, but when i issue command
#vgextend /dev/vg00 /c2t1d0 am getting error
vgextend: Couldn't open physical volume "/dev/dsk/c2t1d0":
I/O error
Even " mediainit " reporting error
mediainit: initialize media command failed - I/O error
Kindly let me know how to correct this or this is HDD problem.

could you post the o/p of ioscan -funCdisk and exact error messages you are getting.
