Message from disk array
Hi,
I did a fresh install of HP-UX ver 11.00 to a H50 which connected to disk array (C2430A). While performing "mediainit" to the disk array, there is a message:
access error: unable to get status from disk array
mediainit completed.
1) Has the mediainit successful
2) Is there a patch to rectify this problem.
Thanks in advance,
YC

Re: Message from disk array
Why would you want to mediainit the array? If you have fresh installed, you just need to ensure that tyou have created the lun's on the array so that the OS can now see the virtual discs. If you really want to destroy what was on the array, one way would be to remove all lun configurations, and recreate rth eluns from scratch.
I somehow sem to recall that you may not be able to use mediainit on an array anyway :-}

Re: Message from disk array
Hi,
Yes, I want to destroy the data in the disk array. The disk array belongs to old model. How to go about it.
rgds,
YC

Re: Message from disk array
I don't know this array, but if you want to use the same LUNs and just destroy their information, you only need to perform pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/cxtxdx on each lun.
But if you want to destroy and configure new LUNs then maybe this thread is related to that:

good luck.
