model script for HP laser Jet 8000n printer

We have a HP laser jet 8000n printer that we would like to configure on a hp-ux 11.23 host as a network printer, using the Jet Direct software. After searching the web, it seems like this printer is supported by hp-ux, but I can't seem to find the appropriate model script on http://www.hp.com/pond/modelscripts/index2.html
Where can I find a model script suited for this printer? thanks,Ed

Re: model script for HP laser Jet 8000n printer

just about all laserjets will work with a generic PCL4, PCL5 or PCL6 interface script.

Unless you need some super special pre-programmed options from the UNIX command line any one of these should work.

They are found in /usr/lib/lp/model

Hi Ed

The link you provided does feature something called "HP LaserJet 4000, 5000, 8000 families".

You could also try
http://www.hp.com/go/newmodelscripts

This is where hppi pulls its model scripts from. I did see one called "HP LaserJet 8000 Series:net_ljx000". The file name seems to correspond with the one in your link so methinks this is it.
