modifying a package without re-packaging it?

Hi!

I have several SD-UX products that I have created that I would now like to add a postinstall script to. Unfortunately, repackaging the whole package would be a *major* pain (finding which files go where, etc). Is there any way I can just add the postinstall script without having to re-make the entire product?
