Re: montecito processor for IA system.
uptime
If the system has been up for more than a year, then it is single core :-)
Seriously now, please see prior discoussions.
For example:
https://community.hpe.com/t5/System-Administration/Number-of-CPU-cores-in-Server/td-p/5625863
https://community.hpe.com/t5/System-Administration/how-to-find-the-cpu-core-in-hp-ux-11-31/td-p/5704375
I found those with:
google: +site:itrc.hp.com +hpux +cpu +core

SolutionI have servers montecito and servers with not
You can see a difference when i execute machinfo :
machinfo
CPU info:
Number of CPUs = 4
Clock speed = 1400 MHz
Bus speed = 400 MT/s
CPUID registers
vendor information = "GenuineIntel"
processor serial number = 0x0000000000000000
processor version info = 0x0000000020000704
architecture revision: 0
processor family: 32 Intel(R) Itanium 2 9000 series
processor model: 0 Intel(R) Itanium 2 9000 series
Number of CPUs = 2
Clock speed = 1600 MHz
Bus speed = 400 MT/s
CPUID registers
vendor information = "GenuineIntel"
processor serial number = 0x0000000000000000
processor version info = 0x000000001f020204
architecture revision: 0
processor family: 31 Intel(R) Itanium 2 Family Processors
Difference between montecito and others are processors family
32 montecito
31 others
I don't say if it's very sure as identification....

Re: montecito processor for IA system.
the threads above are about PA-RISC CPUs.
You should run
/usr/contrib/bin/machinfo
as mentioned above.
The following line is important:
processor family: 32 Intel(R) Itanium 2 9000 series
Intel named the Montecito CPU family "9000",
see
http://www.intel.com/products/processor_number/chart/itanium2.htm
Previous model is for example:
processor family: 31 Intel(R) Itanium 2 Family Processors
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
