Re: mount point

Unfortunately not.

However, you probably don't need to. If you explain what you are trying to do, I'm sure a better solution could be found. Perhaps with symbolic links or NFS or something.

Re: mount point

If you export it via NFS you can mount it multiple times, or just use symbolic links, it will work faster on the local system.

You can not mount an lvol twice, you will get an error of device is already in use.

Re: mount point

Well yes,

You can NFS export the filesystem from Windows if you have NFS for windows but the more usual approach is to install Samba on your HP box. Having done this, you can browse the windows shares.

It's not quite as transparent as linux mounting a windows partition that is on the same box but it works.

Re: mount point

When mounting the windows partition from linux, you only mount it once!

So that the same under HP.

Re: mount point

Hi Amit,

You have a dual boot linux/windows system and you are able to mount to the windows partition on Linux right?

No it is not possible with HP-UX. Even on a Itanium machine, though HP-UX and Windows can co-exist but can not mount one's partition on to the other.
