Mounting /usr filesystem with options delaylog,ro
If I mount the /usr filesystem with the options delaylog,ro and reboot the server, the server does not come up correctly.
If /usr is mounted with just the ro option it is fine, and with /usr with just the delaylog option it is also fine.
Logically, it seems silly to use delaylogs on a read-only file system, but this is what is done by the hp hardening script.
Any ideas why this could be causing a problem would be appreciated.

Re: Mounting /usr filesystem with options delaylog,ro
The system can not write a log on a read only filesystem because it's ummm read only!
If you are mounting it read only then you should have the "nolog" or "tmplog" option.

Never preceed any demonstration with anything more predictive than "watch this"
