MP config problem
I recently requested a segregated management LAN for our HP-UX systems, but due to certain constraints I was only give a VLAN of the core. The problem I seem to be facing is with the MP for a 7410, i have configured the MP LAN interface with an IP address and i have given the default gateway of the MP as the IP address of the VLAN. When i try to access the MP across VLAN's I am unable to, but when i connect to the MP in the same VLAN i don't have a problem. I have spoken to the networking section but they are denying that the problem is on their side (which i find hard to beleive) but i was just wondering if anyone else has been in this dilema of not being able to access the MP or GSP across VLAN's ?

Re: MP config problem
I usually have hp 7410 with MP on VLAN. No problems.
Try to traceroute from outside the VLAN to the MP and report.

Re: MP config problem
the delta between Vlan and seperate physical lans is very small at the IP level, there still has to be a router.
as previously mentioned, run a traceroute from one side to the other, then run the reverse.
if you can trace from one to the other, it's proably a software level config on the server.
if you can't trace BOTH ways it's probably a networking problem, send the trace results to you're net admins.
if you can trace from one side, but not the other it's probably default gateway or routing config on the network interfaces.

There have been Innumerable people who have helped me. Of course, I've managed to piss most of them off.
