It's been a while since I dabbed into the EMS environment so this warrants my 2 inquiries ont his beast;
#1 Can we have multiple (different) versions of EMS installed on the same server ? I recall some time ago someone stating that it could be the cause for either erronous or bogus messages logged by EMS. Example of repetitive messages attached at end of this thread (seems to repeat itself every 2nd day).
NOTE: The reason that leads us to believe that these are bogus messages, is that no system malfunction or unexplained behavior were reported.
Presently we have this on an rp8400 running UX version 11.11:
EMS-Config A.04.00 EMS Config
EMS-Core A.03.20.01 EMS Core Product
EMS-Core A.04.00 EMS Core Product
EMS-DiskMonitor A.03.20.01 EMS Disk Resource Monitor
EMS-KRMonitor A.11.11.04 EMS Kernel Resource Monitor
EMS-MIBMonitor A.03.20.01 EMS MIB Resource Monitor Product
EMS-RdbmsMon A.03.20.01 EMS Database Monitor
PHSS_28844 1.0 EMS & HA Monitors (A.03.20.01) patch
#2 How can one confirm which version is presently running ? Checked startup scripts in /sbin/rc2.d, ps output, etc...it does'nt seem to be an obvious piece of data to locate, other than a swlist output...?
Your time and replies will be sincerely appreciated and welcome.
Cheers,
Serge

Re: Multiple EMS versions on same server.
i will not recommend to have 2 version of EMS on the same computer , please swremove all version and install the EMS version 4.X .
to get info about your ems , you can run the hamon.sh to get this info .

Re: Multiple EMS versions on same server.
It looks like you were at EMS version A.03.20 but upgraded it to A.04.00.
You can confirm the version you're running with:
# what /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/registrar

Re: Multiple EMS versions on same server.
Better off to remove old version software if at all possible.
Syntax "what /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/registrar" confirmed running version.
