Need to increase Kernel Parameter nfiles.

I only need to increase nfile parameter from existing 4049 to 8098. Can I directly increase nfile parameter only or do I need to increase the maxuser/formula etc.

Hi Gulam,

No need to change/use the maxusers formula. Simply hardcode the value and rebuild the kernel. Use sam if you are not comfortable with command line.

I've got to agree with Sri. If you change the formula you may end up affecting many other parameters. It's much better to just hardcode the value to what you want.
