Netbackup client not accessible
Hi All,
Netbackup client has got a disk problem and is replaced. Now /var is empty and i am trying to restore it from Netbackup server. But i am unable to telnet it from Netbackup Server.
From Client:
# /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpcd -port 13782
bind(13782) failed: 226
# ps -ef | grep -i inetd
root 23665 1 0 01:37:37 ? 0:00 /usr/sbin/inetd
# netstat -a | grep -i bpcd
tcp 0 0 *.bpcd *.* LISTEN
From Netbackup server :
enbu1:vr0591 telnet BRETAC9D-55-sec bpcd
Trying 55.10.34.43...
Connected to bretac9d-55-sec.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection to bretac9d-55-sec closed by foreign host
I have tried restarting inetd services.
Any reply will be appreciated.
Thanks

If one of the system filesystems goes bad, you may not be able to use a backup tool like netbackup to restore. You may have to use ignite to backup the OS.
You may need to at least create /var/tmp/.
