netconf not working

Last night our machine caught on fire. Yes just a small one but the CE replaced just about every board in there. Now the netconf file that was in place doesn't work. I get a message ERROR: Failed to add route entry because its interface is not yet initialized. May need to add this route entry with a route commad after the interface is up : add net default: gateway 125.0.0.57: Network is unreachable. I am attaching my netconf file. Can anyone please tell me where I am going wrong? The people that can't connect are remote vpn users that come in on as 192.168.x.x. Thanks in advance it has been a 28 hour day so far.

Re: netconf not working

I was just getting ready to go to that building and check that. Here are the outputs you asked for though. They are in one file.

Re: netconf not working

Your deafult gateway as mentioned in your attachment is on a different network than your primary inetrface .

I think thats the problem there .
Your deafult gatewat should be 10.103.4.1 . But it may be different depending on your subnet mask .

I would suggest you talk to your network guys to find the correct IP/SUBNET .

Re: netconf not working

In the ioscan output there are no device files for the 1000er LANs.

Try insf -e -C lan
and ioscan -fnC lan again.

Do you now have device files?

Re: netconf not working

if you don't have device files after run
insf -e
I think you need to install lan card drivers.

Re: netconf not working

This is working for internal users but not the vpn users. I can't think it is a driver issue if all my internal users can see the box.

Re: netconf not working

Amiel,

The problem is the order of the routes in your netconf file.
ROUTE_DESTINATION[0]=default
ROUTE_MASK[0]=""
ROUTE_GATEWAY[0]=125.0.0.57
ROUTE_COUNT[0]=1
ROUTE_ARGS[0]=""

You need to move this entry [0] which is the first route statement to run, so that
it comes after the others. Change all the [0] to [6] in order to do that. Then change the [6] in the below entry to [0] and you should be OK.

ROUTE_DESTINATION[6]="net 10.103.0.0"
ROUTE_GATEWAY[6]=10.103.0.1
ROUTE_COUNT[6]=1

Hope that helps,

Re: netconf not working

Could you see if you have more than one file starting from netconf, do ll netconf* on directory /etc/rc.config.d/
System source all files under this directory while booting except some . or .bak files and it could easily confuse the server if more than one file is present.

Re: netconf not working

Thanks for all the help. Someone made a change to the netconf file without me knowing about it. I changed the default route and it is now fine.
