netstat output clear

Hello,

my netstat -in output is showing a high numbers for the inout and ouput pkts.

Is there a way to reset these numbers without a reboot or disturbing the service.

Re: netstat output clear

Shalom,

I am pretty sure if you restart the machine these numbers will reset.

In a mood here, sorry.

This thread seems to indicate you can't reset these stats.

This thread, with an answer by me seems to indicate the same.

See, and I forget.

Linux netstat has a reset function. HP-UX 11.00 does not. Newer versions may.

Anything on the man page. Turning on my HP-UX systems turns my home office into an easy bake oven.

Re: netstat output clear

Unless and until there is an option added to HP-UX netstat, you might consider beforeafter from ftp://ftp.cup.hp.com/dist/networking/tools to enable you to subtract one set of netstat output from another. I suppose that with a bit of clever scripting, it might form the basis of a way to make it appear that there is indeed a stats clear option for netstat in HP-UX...
