Network Card Installation

Hello,

I have D-370 Server with 11.11 HP-UX and trying to Install HP A4308-66001 EISA LAN CARD. whenever I run ioscan command it just shows unknown EISA Adapter. It seems like system doesn't detect a LAN card or can't find a driver for that device . Where can I find the driver from for this LAN Card. Can anyone help me with this installation please...... Thank you.

Re: Network Card Installation

If installing the driver does not change things, consider the possibility that the card is bad.

Also, make sure the card is really firmly connected into the system board, any variance can cause this behavior.

Re: Network Card Installation

If you are running 11.11 in 64-bit mode, then this will NOT work. 11.11 64-bit does NOT support EISA cards. To get this to work you will either need to downgrade to 32-bit or find an HSC (I think) LAN card.

Re: Network Card Installation

I did not think EISA was supported under 11i.....

Re: Network Card Installation

It all depends, EISA is supported under 11.11 (11i) but ONLY in 32-bit versions of the OS. The D370 can run either 64-bit or 32-bit 11.11 but any EISA card is only supported under 32-bit 11.x.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Look at these thread:

in general, i remember that you must first install the kernel driver and after the card for that model.
