network interface woes

Hi,

I've got a E35 with a HP-PB 100 Base TX network interface. It doesn't seem to want to "go" full-duplex. Using lanadmin -x there are no options. In SAM the option is there (full duplex), and SAM allows you to set it. but it doesn't hold.

We're running 10.20, is there a patch, or firmware upgrade. Or am i missing something.

Thanks much,

Tom

Try with s700_800 10.X for SAM to read terminal control database(PHCO_8246)
s700_800 10.X for SAM to update terminal control database(PHCO_8247)
s700_800 10.20 SAM trusted user cumulative patch(PHCO_12236)
s700_800 10.20 cumulative fix for SAM convert/unconvert(PHCO_17218

Re: network interface woes

Look in the directory /etc/rc.config.d for the configuration file for you 100 Mb adapter. There will be a file there with a 100 in the name, though I'm not sure of the exact file name. In that file will be an option to set the speed and duplex and the card. You may have to set the speed and duplex on a separate line, or they may be on the same line with a value like 100FD. Read through the file, they are usually documented pretty well and are pretty straight forward to figure out.

If you change this file, then the change should be permanent as this is where all the configuration information is read from at boot time.

Re: network interface woes

You may want to ensure you have the latest driver patch for the HP-PB 100BT card. Also the Arpa and LAN cumulative patches would be a good idea.

Re: network interface woes

Thanks everyone. I found that it was patches I needed (or my customer needed). That and the adjustment of the config files.

Thanks again !
