Network packet loss problem

We have 1 HP9000 (A500) server.
When ping to this server, 99% packet loss.
The LED of this server's NIC is orange.
But SAM shows this server's NIC is UP status.
Could someone advise me this NIC is OK or NOT?
Should I do ioscan?

Re: Network packet loss problem

Check it with STM.
Also lanadmin -g "nmid" Will give some details.

netfmt -f /var/adm/nettl.LOGXX
Will give problems about the links.
There is no substitute to HARDWORK

Re: Network packet loss problem

Revert back the last changes/modification you did on your hp ux server and reboot.

Re: Network packet loss problem

Try to see if you have collisions on the NIC with
netstat -I interface

or try to see
lanadmin of the NIC

man landmin

Re: Network packet loss problem

You could also try

# netstat -picmp

And see if there are a lot of logged errors and if so which kind.
