New Install issue

OS: HP-UX 10.20
Machine: 715/100

Previous issue:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/0,,0x1dfe5dc05a7ad711abdc0090277a778c,00.html
Note:
Previous issue was resolved,
but documented for background.

Summary of Problem:
I am installing HP-UX 10.20 as a new install. I am have edited the mount points to LVMs and now I am in the section where it asks me to install packages. It seems no matter what packages I pick (all, none, some) the analyzer always states I have broken dependices. I have not seen a way to resolve this.

I am more versed with Debian Linux then with HP-UX, so feel free to let me know what concepts I am lacking.
Since this is a QA machine, there is no manual to RTFM.

Thanks

Re: New Install issue

Hi Alan,
Don't select anything just go with flow. I mean let it install what ever it want.

Just setup root password and host name and ip address.
You can setup system once it is up and running.

You can install packages/patchs later on.

Re: New Install issue

Please refer to the /var/adm/sw/swagent.log file, isolate the session by time stamp and attach the errors.

Re: New Install issue

A manual to flipping read I guess..

http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/otsearch/getfile?id=/hpux/onlinedocs/diag/st/str_9912.htm&searchterms=HP-UX%7c10.20%7cIntall&queryid=20030430-155503

All you should need is the Core OS CD.

Good Luck.

I like 11.00 much better.
