NIS

Hi,
When I am trying to start NIS Daemons(/#sbin/init.d/nis.server start) or explicitly with each process , they are looking in directory /var/yp`domainname`/ where deafult NIS database files will be there.
But I generated all NIS database information in different directory(/var/yp/dest/`domainname`/) because of which NIS daemons are not getting started.
how do specify seperatly to look in my customized directory ???

Put can put the directories (where you have put the information) in /etc/rc.config.d/namesvrs file.

In /var/yp/ypmake, the MAPDIR variable is set to:
$NISMAP_DIR/$DOM (/var/yp/domainname)

Try changing this.

I think john's suggestion would work if tried,as it works for if we want to change the password file.
