nisplus lockout problem
A user is locked out of an nisplus client system. getprpw for the user "cars" shows these values for lockout.
/root> /usr/lbin/getprpw cars
... alock=NO, lockout=1000000
/root> /usr/lbin/getprpw -l cars
... alock=NO, lockout=0000000
The usual action is to run "modprpw -k cars"
but it doesn't make any changes. On the nisplus master, the lockout value is zero for both.
Any suggestions?

Found my own answer. The leading "1" means that the password lifetime has expired. The only way to clear it is to reset the password.
