openssh hangs
Hi,
I'm not sure if I should be posting this question here on in openssh newsgroups. So, please let me know if that's the case.
I've upgraded openssh on our hp-ux 11.00 box to OpenSSH 3.9p1.
When I try to connect, it hangs for about 3 seconds, and then continues to connect.
OpenSSH_3.8.1p1 Debian 1:3.8.1p1-8, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config
debug1: Connecting to glorious [10.1.8.236] port 22.
debug1: Connection established.
debug1: identity file /home/lisansa/.ssh/identity type -1
debug1: identity file /home/lisansa/.ssh/id_rsa type -1
debug1: identity file /home/lisansa/.ssh/id_dsa type -1
----------- hangs......................
debug1: Remote protocol version 1.99, remote software version OpenSSH_3.9p1
debug1: match: OpenSSH_3.9p1 pat OpenSSH*
debug1: Enabling compatibility mode for protocol 2.0
debug1: Local version string SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_3.8.1p1 Debian 1:3.8.1p1-8
Older version works fine. What could be the reason for this? DNS is fine, reverse look up works as well.
Thank you!
Asya

Re: openssh hangs
Hi,
do you really need OpenSSH 3.9p1?
I recommend use the HP-UX Secure Shell (based on OpenSSH 3.8.1p1). The HP-UX Secure Shell is HP tested and supported products. It is available from:
http://www.software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=T1471AA

Re: openssh hangs
Hi
The HP has an open SSH
T1471AA A.03.61.002 HP-UX Secure Shell
This is reliable and have not seen any issues with it.
