Hello all
I am instaling oracle 10g release 2 on hp-ux 11.11 system.
during running the installer appear an error :
error in invoking target 'ioracle all_no_orcl ihsodbc' of
makefile '../..rdbmd/lib/ins_rdbms.mk
I have seen that There aren't the link
# cd /usr/lib
# ln -s libX11.3 libX11.sl
......
It is possible that this is the problem ?
Is right do this link with oracle user or is need root user?
Another think: I have interrupt the installation but now I see the oracle home
but I cannot disintall it from oracle installer.
How can I manually remove the interrupted installation ?
Thanks in advance
dartan

Solution
hi Dartan,
We have it linked as the root user at our site:
$ ll |grep libX11
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 23 Aug 2 2002 libX11.1 -> /usr/lib/X
11R5/libX11.1
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 23 Aug 2 2002 libX11.2 -> /usr/lib/X
11R6/libX11.2
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 23 Aug 2 2002 libX11.3 -> /usr/lib/X
11R6/libX11.3
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root other 23 Aug 30 2002 libX11.a -> /usr/lib/X
11R6/libX11.a
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root other 17 Aug 30 2002 libX11.sl -> /usr/lib/
libX11.3
$
If you don't have any other oracle installations, i would suggest that you just delete all the files in the oracle home, tmp and in the inventory directories.
Please note that the /var/opt/oracle/oraInst.loc file will give you the path to the Inventory directory.
hope this helps!
kind regards
yogeeraj

Re: oracle 10gr2 error
Hello Dartan,
Yogeerai has a good suggestion. after create those links. if there is no other oracle in this box. Delete them all and reinstall it. you need to follow oracle installation instruction and making sure you don't miss anything.
here are folders and files to remove:
/etc/oratab
$ORACLE_HOME
/tmp/all_oracle_tmp_dir
/var/opt/oracle
Hope this help.
Regards,
Tom
