Oracle RAC support issue
Does anyone know more about this ? Maybe this is only Windows related, because when you unplug a cable from a NIC on Windows, the ip address is apparent lost.

Re: Oracle RAC support issue
Oracle RAC on HP-UX MC/SG with HF is supported with point-to-point connections as long as the cluster is 2-node. Switches are required if you want to have more than 2 nodes.

Re: Oracle RAC support issue
My 2-node Serviceguard cluster has dual point-to-point hyperfabric connections. Each node has 2 cards which make up a card-pair as configured with clic_init and I said Y to the question if I was going to use HMP for Oracle RAC.
Is this a HP and Oracle supported setup ? When I look in the Hyperfabric documentation, it says that I can have a single point-to-point connection, but from the moment I add a node or an adapter to the cluster, I need switches.
Can someone shed some light on this ?
Oracle was relinked to use the HMP protocol. We did fail-over tests yesterday, but they all failed. With UDP all works fine.

Re: Oracle RAC support issue
in configuration with point-to-point connections in 2-node RAC cluster with dual HF2 connections, you can use only UDP protocol.
See the doc:
"HyperFabric Configuration Guidelines" - page 16
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/pdf/B6257-90041.pdf
HMP with multiple HF connections requires the HF switch. The best practices is use of two switches.
See the doc:
"HyperFabric Configuration Guidelines" - page 31
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/pdf/B6257-90041.pdf
Remember to use the current HF drivers:
