Partition Manager
com.hp.parmgr.model.DiscoveryError: Error while getting an instance: URL = http://localhost:5988 namespace = root/cimv2/npar name = HP_NParComplex key(s) = [sint32:ProfileID=0].CIM_ERR_NOT_SUPPORTED(CIM_ERR_NOT_SUPPORTED: The requested operation is not supported: "@31:The system is not using a compatible version of IPMI. The nPartition Provider supports IPMI 1.5.[The system () is using IPMI 1.0]")
Can I find IPMI 1.5 at this site? What is IPMI anyway?
Thanks.

Man page:
"The /dev/ipmi driver allows user processes to send IPMI messages to the BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) System Message Interface."

Re: Partition Manager
It seems that you are using partition manager version 2.0.
Check the version of System Fault Management (SysFaultMgmt) on the systm using
# swlist -a revision SysFaultMgmt
IPMI is a part of System Fault Management which is used by WBEM and its providers.
The details of IPMI could be found at
http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-1247/ch01s06.html
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=ISS
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=SYSFAULTMGMT
You may need to install latest version of
SysFaultMgmt.

Re: Partition Manager
# Initializing...
# Contacting target "gravina"...
ERROR: Software "SysFaultMgmt" was not found on host "gravina:/".
I checked the website for System Fault Management and found that it isn't supported on my rp3440-4 server.

Re: Partition Manager
Lowest model is the RP7420 (or older RP7410).

Re: Partition Manager
Aah!! rp3440 server!!
It is not partitionable (npar capable) server. I know even on non-partitionable server and is "vpar" supported, partition manager s/w is a requirement of "vpar" software. Saying that, "vpar" software uses partition manager for its operation.
As far as the IPMI is concerned for this server , MP/iLO does provide IPMI support. You can check the MP/iLO and IPMI version using MP Interface.
MP > CM > SYSREV
You may need to upgrade the MP/iLO firmware.
