Partitioning a disk

I want to add a new disk to my system (hp-ux 10.20) but I want to partition it in the 'old way' ie without using the LVM, but I can't figure out how to do this. SAM seems to only allow me to add the whole disk and mount it to one filesystem, but I want to partition it into three partitions and mount on them different filesystems. Is this still possible? If so how do I do it?

Thanks,
Rebecca

Re: Partitioning a disk

Hi,

please look at this thread:

Think you cannot partitioning the disk. Only way is to use LVM.

Re: Partitioning a disk

As of HP-UX 10.x you can no longer partition up a disk outside of LVM. You can only use the whole disc. Why would you not want to use LVM is the question.
