Patch Depot and Kernel change
I have a Patch Depot that I want to install which will reboot.
I also want to change max_mem_window from 0 to 20.
How can this be done safely with only one reboot?

Re: Patch Depot and Kernel change
I would just bite the bullet and plan on 2 reboots.

Re: Patch Depot and Kernel change
Are you saying to ...
edit /stand/system changing "max_mem_windows 00" to "max_mem_windows 20".
-then-
swinstall ... reboot
??

Re: Patch Depot and Kernel change
Yes, you could do it that way. You could also use SAM and go through the whole process of building the kernel - just don't click on the OK button to reboot. Then, in another window, run your swinstall and let that do the reboot.

Re: Patch Depot and Kernel change
I've done this type thing several times successfully w/o incident.
I do it as Pete layed it out - use SAM for the parm change & just don't click that last button. Then run the swinstall session & let it reboot the box
Hey - anything to save an extra boot, I say is AOK.
Rgds,
Jeff
