Hi,
When you install the HWE patch bundle, does it actually overwrite the existing files on the system regardless if the mtime or the exisitng file permissions/owner?

it will be installed according to revision number regardless mtime or permisssion.

Does that mean whatever permission/owner/mtime the existing files that are about to be overwritten will take on new permission/owner/mtime that is defined in the HWE bundle that is about to be installed?

I am thinking yes but I just need confirmation..

That's correct. That's how swinstall/swverify work. The only exceptions would be for products that have configuration files where the author is nice enough to leave what's there alone. For example: /etc/tztab.
