Patching 11.23 IA64 machine throwing errors
Hi All,
I have a IA 64 machine it's model is rx2620. I am trying to apply Dec 2008 bundles on it, when i trigger the swinstall with -P option, it gets succeeded and when i actually install the patches, the analysis phase gets completed and during applying the patches, i am getting the following errors
NOTE: The module 'pipemod' has been removed from /stand/system, since
there is no supported version of the module installed.
NOTE: The module 'ffs' has been removed from /stand/system, since
there is no supported version of the module installed.
ERROR: The module 'igelan' depends on a module 'libstream' which is
not installed on the system.
ERROR: The command "/usr/sbin/mk_kernel", which is used to rebuild
the kernel, has failed. Because kernel-related filesets were
installed, this command must be executed by "swinstall",
without failures, before the load can continue. Check the
above output for details about the failure.
NOTE: The Install Phase has suspended. Check the above output for
reasons.
Can anyone help me out in resolving the issue, as this is a very important box.
Awaiting for all your responses.
Thanks in Advance

Re: Patching 11.23 IA64 machine throwing errors
it is a nice mess in the kernel libs.
libstream is mandatory, so you may have error on last patch update and the kernel libs were corrupted.
Now it is difficult to come back to a stable situation.
if you have an ignite backup, it looks it is time to use it.
If you have an other system with the exact same patches, then you can try to copy the content of /usr/conf/lib, and regen, but there is not guaranty
You can also try to make a bundle of all the patch you should have on the system and force their reinstall. But this may have unexpected results.
you can also try an update with the last 11.23 update.

Did you mean -p (preview) option?
