Glance is the best way for this. You can also use sar, but I think glance is the most popular.

Hi,

If u prefer command line then u can use top , vmstat and netstat commands.

The 'right' answer depends on the reason behind your question.

'glance' is great for a quick hands-on drill down.

'sar' is better for longer term monitorring/scripting for benchmakrs and such.

'OpenView' and other 'management' tools are better for longer term performance and capacity planning purposes.

What problem are you trying to solve?

yes... as told above.. if depends on what you are looking at.. you can use vmstat (Virtual Memory ) , glance.. or top should be a simple way to find out.

if you want online monitoring, use glance

For historical performance figures, you will have to use measureware. Data extracted from measureware can be used to plot performance graphs for further analysis.
