Re: Please Post Forums Issues - July 2005

To add to Merijn's comments, the performance improvements are not terribly evident in my opinion. In particular, I've noticed that opening longer threads takes quite some time now. For example, it took just over 21 seconds to open this thread. Merijn's statistics thread, another longer thread, is equally so and this, I don't believe, was true in the past.

Oh, but the speed *is* up. And provable so.

See the attached graph of the past 1½ day (that sais 1 1/2). The speed is up, but less stable. Just compare that to my older graphs.

The stats were also finished much faster.

The continuing issue with 'https' URL's was posted in the outage notification thread. I know I made at least one reference to it.

re: https: It has been under investigation since Stuart reported it as not working on the 13th.

Formatted text and https were supposed to be in this release and are not. We're checking into it and will let everyone know as soon as there is something to report.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - July 2005

Cheryl,
sorry to disturb but ...
is there some valid reason because I don't receive replies in this thread?

It happens today; last week it appeared to work fine.

Thank you

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - July 2005

Is it me or is it a new feature, that a thread closed by author gets a bunny automatically regardless it has any answers graded at least 8 points or not. Please see this thread as an example:

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - July 2005

Mel -
It's how he closed the thread. He selected "I have found a solution...." which signifies the bunny.

In previous releases of the forums, you had to rate a post 8+ points and the magic bunny appeared. Now, you only have to select this box and the bunny appears.

Points are no longer tied to the Magic Bunny.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - July 2005

Hi,

I have the strange feeling, I have seen this a long time ago.
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=913674
Why does this thread have the last update 25/07 where as the last post is from 21/06?

greetings,

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - July 2005

Michael -
Not sure what happened there. However I posted a reply to it, then removed that reply which reset the last response date and that thread is back down with the other June threads.

If you see this again, please let me know.

Cheryl,

I could not figure why anyone would answer and then the answer being removed. But that is understandable.

Did I miss an announcement about maintenance?

I keep getting system unavailable on the HPUX forum today.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - July 2005

Cheryl,

I'm putting this gripe here,as I'm not sure how to communicate to HP.

I had to create a new forums account as HP disabled my old one, when I moved from my old firm. I have now found that my old account has now been given to someone else, so they have my forums points (I had made it to wizard status) Understandably I am extremely annoyed. I can provide you with both login ID's.

I did ask if the points could be transferred to my new account when I found out the old one had been disabled, but got no reply.

Regards,

Hilary
