plese suggest the solution
I edited the file /etc/passwd for the root user now the account is locked can you suggest the solution regarding this issue?
and now it is giving error is "Account is disabled, but root login from the console is allowed."

and welcome to forums.
To enable account from console:
# /usr/lbin/modprpw -k root
Try to login as another user and su to root.
If you have problem logging from console try to reboot to single user mode and change the root password.

hi,
if you have a backup of the password file, try to restore it.
otherwise if you have access to the console, login as the root user and change the root password using the "passwd root" command.
lastly, if both above fails, you will need to boot in single user mode and change the password.
