powerpath causes system panic
hello;
I've got an rp8420 vpar on 11.23 with latest patches (from 11/2007) running powerpath version HP.5.0.0_b132
clarion storage was addressed by powerpath but the storage has been removed. now nothing is being addressed by powerpath.
Now anytime HP's SysInfo script is run (latest version 5.06), when it starts scanning for all disks the system will panic.
I have two other vpars on the same partition that does not have this issue.
has anyone seen this before
thanks much

Re: powerpath causes system panic
hi,
can u share how do you remove the clarion storage?
It may cause by the powerpath configuration of old disk devices but i'm no clarion expert.
Well, you could display your current powerpath disk configuration
# powermt display
Then try to remove dead link or previous remove clariion devices, do the following:
# powermt check
command above will check for connection link to emc devices. If the devices has been removed, it will prompt if you want to remove it from the configuration. Answer yes and you will be fine.
If it failed to remove, force it. Example:
# powermt remove force dev=c20t2d0
Good luck!
pls assign some points if this answer your question, thanks!

Re: powerpath causes system panic
thank you for your input on this.
I did the "powermt check" and removed the deadlinks.
unfortunely it was decided to "swremove EMCpower" from the server afterwards.

Re: powerpath causes system panic
My suggestion would have been to remove PowerPath if you are not using it.
