Powerpath HBA settings
I have installed powerpath 4.3.0 on HPUX 11.11 system and trying to configure but it doesn't get thro.
Everything is working fine as of Disks/filesystems are concerned but powerpath doesn't sense the devices.
when i issue
#powermt config
#powermt display
It display 0 devices.
Checked with EMC vendor and they asked to me check the settings of HBA as below :
Parameter - PowerPath
Initiator Type (AccessLogix)- HP no auto trespass
Array Systemtype (non AccessLogix)- decimal 10 (hex a)
Arraycommpath - 1 (Enabled)
Failovermode - 1
UnitSerialNumber - LUN or Array2
I couldn't find clear options in fcmsutil also.
Can you please let me know how this settings can be done.

Re: Powerpath HBA settings
At least some of those setting are made on the storage array not the host. What kind of SAN storage are you using. I know a bit about EMC CX series, but that's about it.
Have you checked the documentation for Powerpath? EMC's support site, PowerLink, also has a procedure generator tool that will create a document for many situations. That may be helpful. All I have to do is tell you to update your drivers and firmware and I've saved you a call to EMC. ;-) Seriously the proc generator isn't a bad tool. You should check it out if you haven't already.
Regards,
Tom

Re: Powerpath HBA settings
In effect it is sufficient you specify only one special file for you volume in your vg configuration instead of declare all special file referring to a same volume like you would do if you used pvlink because powerpath is able to find and use other paths regardless you put them in vg configuration.
If you don't see HBA try to chek also if all of them are included correctly in your storage group (you have to switch before in engeenering mode).
