Predictive MEMSCAN errors

Since installing the latest STM A.25.00 Patch (PHSS_23658), I now get daily Predictive alerts:

WARNING - 1:54 AM, 05/07/01 - MEMSCAN(160A)
PIE - Open Log Files Failed :Proc 1120:ErrSts 160:dSts 0. Check Read HP Predictive Support UX User's Guide for Directions. U025

I searched the Predictive User's Guide and the Knowledge base with no results. The only info I found was how to enable/disable MEMSCAN.

Has anyone else seen this type of error?

Hi Vincenzo,

Thank you for the link to the sysadmin archives, but I only found two other postings of the exact same condition with no solutions or summaries so far.

Re: Predictive MEMSCAN errors

I've just been advised by my CE that HP has released a new patch for the patch for the STM to cure the memscan problem.

Patch PHSS_23588 (which requires the previous patch PHSS_23658)

Path Name: /hp-ux_patches/s700_800/11.X/PHSS_23588 (4321853)
Symptoms:
PHSS_23588:

o MEMSCANP does not properly detect memory errors.
(DTS: JAGad52456)

o Predictive causes failure to launch messages.
(DTS:JAGad53442)

I'll give it a shot and let everyone know if it breaks something else in the process ;)
