Predictive replacement

I believe HP's predictive diagnostic software is not supported anymore and has been replaced by something else. Does anyone know what is the replacement ?

Re: Predictive replacement

I think you can still use predictive, dont think HP have dropped support for it quite yet, but the new product is called ISEE (Instant support enterprise edition). You can download from www.software.hp.com (its the top of the list on the right under featured products). You will need to be able to connect to the internet from your HP server in order to use it as it makes realtime connections to HP to raise calls if hardware errors occur, etc. Beats having to configure a modem though - and keep it working!

Re: Predictive replacement

The faq states that you need to provide a Windows 2000 server as the only qualified platform in order to use this service. The spec sheet requires an 800 MHz P3, 8 GB disk, and 256 MB memory, 512 recommended.

Re: Predictive replacement

Mohan,

There are two flavors of ISEE. One is called the Data Center Configuration and is aimed at large data centers with many nodes to be supported. This version is an extra cost product and requires the Win2K workstation (labelled the SPOP,or Support Point-of-Presence). This version of the product is intended for those customers who now use HAO.

The other version is known as the Small Enterprise Configuration and is available as a free download from software.hp.com. This version does not require the Win2K SPOP.

You can read more about ISEE (and download the small enterprise version) here:

I hope this helps!

Re: Predictive replacement

So what does this mean for those of us that don't have the server attached to an outside line? Our network connections run through our NT server, and the UNIX one doesn't look outside at all. when do they plan on dropping predictive entirely?
