Preventive actions
Can you listout the preventive action which we need to take on prodcution box to avoid problems like disk space,memory etc.Suggest me any tools/documentation on regular monitoring the production box.

Here's one called BMC Patrol

You should have your online diagnostics (stm) loaded from your application cd's also. This will monitor hardware events for your system and mail or update syslog of events

We monitor Space,Cpu Usage, Memory with these scripts.
In case you can shell out some money then product Patrol is there. No idea on it's details.

We also use Patrol for monitoring things like CPU disks processes logfiles etc.
I also have scripts which check disk space, and disks for stale extents or missing hardware, which e-mail me when there is a problem.
