Print queue was automatically disabled
Hi !
Recently, I have created some remote print queue that enable the print jobs sending from UNIX to LPD Server in client's Win 2000 workstation. However, there are 2 print queues get disabled automatically, and no errors message were found in /var/adm/lp/log file. The document sometimes get printed, but sometimes not. Is there any way I can trace the problem ? Thanks

Re: Print queue was automatically disabled
The only place to get more info is the return status from the print job in /var/adm/lp/log (it will say rc=).
Basically the queue becomes disabled because of a bad return status back from the printer - its not the HP servers fault. Check the printer, its network connection, how its setup to handle errors, etc. For example, if the printer jams or runs out of paper it could casue a bad return status to your HP server so it disables the queue.

Re: Print queue was automatically disabled
I solve the problem by dropping and re-create the print queue, and it seems it won't get disabled again.
