Printer problem
Hi folks,
Some of our IT persons decided to buy some IBM Lexmark printers. Since I always configured HP printers (connected to jetdirect), I encounter now some problems. I cannot install the new printers because of SNMP errors. I decided to install the markvision program from IBM-Lexmark. Does somebody know how to do this? I've got a file named markvision-hpux1x.pkg but no further information has been provided.
Please help,
DD

The possible we did, the unpossible we're doing but for a miracle you have to wait some time.

Re: Printer problem
I have never installed MarkVision on UNIX...I did on Novell/Netware.
If what you have is a file .. have you tried running
swinstall
Then when it comes up and says it can't find anything try typing in the full path where you put the file, including the actual file name. (This is what I do when I load Jetadmin from a download file..)
See if it will see it then to load...you may need to change your options in swinstall to View/Product ( or maybe not..).
Just a thought, .. when I installed MarkVision it came on a CD...did you get one??
