Printer problem
I have 2 RP7410 running HPUX B11.11. We use MILAN print servers with OKIDATA 591 printers. I have about 18 printers and 4 of them are not working and then rest are. I saved the printer set ups on the old box and restored them on the new box.
tar -cvf /tmp/printer.tar /var/sam/lp
untared them on the othe machine
sam: restored spooler
98% of the printer work,
What could be wrong with those printers

Re: Printer problem
I have heard cases where the sam spooler migration did have problems and not all printers got migrated. You should delete one of the printers that don't work and recreate it manually. 4 printers time 2 rp7410 servers is only 8 spoolers. It is not that bad if that is the problem.
Other problems can be from network routing differences in the routes between the old unix servers and the printers and the new rp 7410 abnd the printers.
Are these 4 printers in a specific segment and can the rp7410s get to them?
