Problem accessing console via hyper-term

Hi,

Has anyone ever had a situation where you can type at the ISL prompt using hyper-term but once the server boots into single user or full boot it is not possible to type anything. The root password is currently disabled but I think it is more of a communication issue.

1) Check your settings. Do you have the COM port set to 9600 8N1?

2) Does ^B or ^Ecf do anything?

If still not working:
3) When the server is booted, try to login and, as root, run "stty +resetGSP
Remember, wherever you go, there you are...

Hi,
If I understand ur question just open another session and try to give the ip address of ur server. u r not getting response as probably gsp to be reset. U can telnet/ssh to ur server and login.

Re: Problem accessing console via hyper-term

Though its more work, I recall Bill Hassel recommending a better terminal emulation than hyperterminal.

It works, I use it, but sometimes it blows off stuff i need like the ISL prompt.

Linux has kermit which is a little better for the job.
