Problem re-connecting Quantum DLT
It appeares fine at first but when I ry to backup it dissapears from the system:
ext_bus 4 0/2/0/0 c720 CLAIMED INTERFACE SCSI C87x Fast
Wide Differential
target 17 0/2/0/0.3 tgt NO_HW DEVICE
tape 1 0/2/0/0.3.0 stape NO_HW DEVICE QUANTUM DLT8000
/dev/rmt/1m /dev/rmt/c4t3d0BEST
/dev/rmt/1mb /dev/rmt/c4t3d0BESTb
/dev/rmt/1mn /dev/rmt/c4t3d0BESTn
/dev/rmt/1mnb /dev/rmt/c4t3d0BESTnb
It changes to NO_HW and goes offline.
All the lights are on on the DLT.

Re: Problem re-connecting Quantum DLT
Hi,
Could you check the terminator in the DLT ?
Also you can check by changing the SCSI ID in the DLT drive and reconnect the drive & check ioscan.
With Regards,
Siva.

Re: Problem re-connecting Quantum DLT
if you _re_-connected it, this is most likely a bent-pin-issue. you should see SCSI errors in syslog and dmesg.
Disconnect again and check pins (and terminator).

Bernhard

Re: Problem re-connecting Quantum DLT
The adapter on the DLT is FW Diff SCSI
and the terminator I am using is marked with: A1658-62024 Rev B
I'm not sure if this is the correct terminator, it may not be the original one used.

Re: Problem re-connecting Quantum DLT
Are there any SCSI lbolt errors onthe console/syslog?
Have you run c/stm?
