Problem with Auto-Port Aggregator configuration

I am having a problem with the initial configuration of APA on a 5470, I am trying to configure APA for 2 fibre gigabit cards the OS is 11i, after adding the physical network ports and then pressing i keep getting a message which says "configuration of link aggregate failed" I was wondering if anyone has come accross this problem.

Re: Problem with Auto-Port Aggregator configuration

Hi,

We are using APA on 100MB NIC's so no experience on the 1Gb. But next thread contains information you must check before configuring.

Re: Problem with Auto-Port Aggregator configuration

Can you check "SAM" log at /var/sam/log/samlog to see if any error logged?
You can also check "nettl" log to see if there is any error reported.
Did you have IP configured on these two cards? APA requires those ports to be "clean", i.e., no other application is using it, before aggregating those ports.
If you've IP configured, unplumb IP interfaces on the physical ports. After the linkagg is created, then configure the IP address on the link aggregate.

Re: Problem with Auto-Port Aggregator configuration

What does a lanscan -q look like?

Also, is your switch enabled or able to perform APA? Our networking guys have to specifically set the ports up to allow it.
