If we remove the main input to the first power supply and check the syslog.log power failure message comes . but if again restore the power then no event message is getting generated in syslog.log file.
Is this a valid behaviour?? Or should we get any messages??
Regards,
Amit

Re: Problem with power cable redundancy!!
Yes, i do get the power failure message each and every time i unplug the power cable.
But i want to know whether there is any message thrown by HP in syslog if we restore the power cables.
Regards,
Amit

Re: Problem with power cable redundancy!!
After fixing this issue (normally not fixed by itself), you can check the status with MP or SMH.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

SolutionThe diagnostic daemons will relay only important MP messages to syslog. A power supply failure is certainly a critical message, so it is relayed; but "power supply restored" is a non-critical message and not relayed by default. If you view the MP log (SL command in the MP main menu), you will see both "power failure" and "power restored" messages.
