problems connecting SDLT tape unit

HP A500 running HP-UX 11i
Compaq SDLT 110/220 tape unit with LVD/SE SCSI adaptor.

I have connected this tape unit up to the core i/o (Narrow SE SCSI) and terminated it.

ioscan still doesnt show the hardware.
If I connect other hardware (dvd DLT etc) to the adaptor on the A500 they are picked up no problem.
I have tried lots of different SCSI ID's on the SDLT to try and get it to work but no luck.
Any ideas?

Hi.

it may due to the termination problem. try to terminate from the device.and try to terminate tha cable with external terminator

The terminstor was the problem thanks
