Problems dialing in
Hello,
I am trying to dialin to my HP9000 box from an NT Wkstn client. I have Dialup Networking setup on the client and have selected PPP as the server-type. When I dial from the client, the modems are able to connect with each other. However, the authentication field hangs and then errors-out with a message saying that the remote PPP peer is not responding.
The PPP services start when the server initially boots, the modems are configured correctly, the /etc/passwd file has an entry for the userID and password for the remote user.
This process totally escapes me.
Can someone please step me through the process of setting this up? I'd like to start from the beginning if possible.
I issue heavy points to good responses.
Thank you for your help.
